20 hrs....et travaillé 'on and off'' le tableau d'hier, le modèle avec sa jupe damier, ses bottes et gants blancs, qui ne sait toujours pas si elle la ramasse la valise, elle doit commencer à avoir mal au dos, la pauvre, moi et bien je n'ai pu me décider à la finir, je sais que je ne la finirai pas au cours de cette période...ou à passer à une autre...alors je continue à peindre et à m'amuser...c'est cela qui compte je crois...:)
20 hrs, worked 'on and off'' yesterday painting, seems that this model with her checkered skirt, white boots and gloves, has kind of kept my attention, I know I will not finish it this session or in the next few days, but don't feel like yet moving to something else or new....maybe later or tomorrow, I guess I'm having too much fun painting her...that's a pretty good reason for me....:)

kept working, still is this morning, I really like the way the folds are coming, and a few other things as well....I kind of rediscover why I was using regular linseed oil, its flowing capacity, good when you need blending and softness, I just have to find the right mix of regular llindseed and stand oil, damar and rectified turpentine...a small detail...:)
Encore en train de la retravailler ce matin, je m'amuse encore avec les plis et coloris, redécouvre pourquoi au début j'utilisais l'huile de lin 'ordinaire', rien n'égale sa fluidité...faut seulement que je trouve le bon dosage avec l'huile de lin purifiée, la térébenthine rectifié et le vernis damar...un détail....:)
Aujourd'hui, je me sentais dans l'état d'esprit où je préférais continuer à l'huile, donc j'ai mis de côté mon côté ingénieur, dans une autre vie...:) je l'étais....et modifié l'ordre de ma sacro-sainte 'chaîne de production', artistique s'entend...probablement qu'avant longtemps il y aura un nouveau pastel, mais pour le moment c'est au tour de ce modèle qui prend ou dépose...sa valise...j'en suis encore à me le demander...je peux dire que ce n'est pas une journée trop stressante, lorsque c'est la grosse question de la journée...ah les vacances...et l'atelier et peindre, l'autre grande tâche de la journée ayant été de préparer le café...
Today I was in the mood for more oil work, so I told the pseudo-manager of my production line, artistic one, to take a hike, the pastel will wait, a new one to come soon, but in the meantime I reworked this model, who is either picking up or putting down her suitcase...I'm still debating on this, so probably it wasn't too much of a hard day when this is the main thing you have on your mind...besides of course getting the coffer pot ready this morning...though day....ah holiday's time...:)
Par contre, côté peinture, ça n'allait pas aussi bien, le médium que j'utilise est fait d'huile de lin polymérisée, sèche plus rapidement mais devient collant, et là c'était trop...jusqu'à temps que je me rende compte qu'en ajoutant un peu d'huile de lin 'ordinaire' tout devenait soudainement....heu..plus comme l'huile, fluide....
But, painting wise, it was difficult, the medium I use is stand oil, quicker drying but tacky, and to tacky this time...fight with that a certain time before my mind woke up..and a bit of regular linseed oil help making it like...heu...an oil painting...  393-36 Modèle inconnue, bottes, gants et valise blancs et jupe damier Huile, 20x28(50x70) 2012-09-12 Et j'apprécie encore plus avoir 'ma visionneuse' ou mon vieil ordi tout près, pas encore comme avoir un modèle à sa disposition mais un peu mieux qu'une photo pas assez grand ou claire ou....en plus me suis rappelé que je pouvais vérifier la position de certains points de repère avec les outils de navigation de photoshop...un outil bien précieux...:), surtout que mon imprimante 11x17 montre des signes inquiétants de fatigue...
Still quite please with my new viewer, next best thing to having a model posing for me, of course I would prefer a model...and also kind of remember that with the navigation tool on photoshop I can't check where are those tricky spot check points to make sure that my drawing isn't too bad...no need to print a not enough large image and besides my 11x17 printer is kind of dying from old age...
encore sur ce tableau, modèle à la jupe drapeau de course....voulait faire des retouches mineures, soit que ce sont de multiples retouches mineures ou de très longues retouches mineures, toujours est-il qu'elle n,est pas terminée, parfois je m'entête trop, sauf qu'un tableau inachevé revient nous hanter chaque fois qu'on le regarde...alors je continue...:)

Yes still on this painting, of this model, racing model...at least for the skirt...minor retouches...don't know if they were so minor, or just too many of them..but still no signature...still look unfinished to me...and I know that unfinished canvas kind of stay with me too long, and that's the only thing I come to see...so I continu....

Even if I don't like sometimes showing the original picture, here it is...I know I should not compare photo and painting...but just feeling, that the lighting in my work is missing details, which bother me not so much, and light and contrast...this is a bit more bothersome to me...I will see in the final stages, and so will you of course...:)

A first version made about 10-12 years ago, oil painting...
 Paulina Porizkova Décidé donc de la reprendre, à l'acrylique, cette fois-ci, il y a longtemps que je voulais reprendre certaines toiles faites voilà plusieurs années, pour voir quelle serait l'interprétation avec des années de recul, à l'acrylique ce sera un 'challenge' pour moi, j'ai de la difficulté avec les textures douces, comme les drapés, avec ce médium et souvent les couleurs sont 'découpées'...un challenge comme je disais...:) pour le moment voilà où j'en suis...
I felt for a long time the desire to redo a few of those old paintings, sometimes to improve them, or at leat try, and more to see what will be my interpretation this time, it will be somewhat different, for a start just because it will ben an acrylic, and to me at least, acrylic paint doesn't allow me as much subtilities in soft textures, and colors than in oils, so a kind of challenge...probably a few of those 'oldies' will be re-interpreted, so to speak...for now did not venture myself too far...:)
 Au fond...tout est bien au début...bleu et bien...:) Comme on dit à ce stade ci...tout est possible, et bleu....début d'une période?...:))
Kind of blue....not from miles Davis..or Picasso, just my blue canvas, maybe a period in becoming...:))
