Sorry if the title is misleading, no exhibition in view, but this refer to what I told myself while hanging my works for the last exhibition at my place last april, like most of the time I do an exhibition I feel that I don't have any landscapes left, so I decided to make one quickly that night, as the same time, doing a bit of pastel change my mind from cleaning the appartment and kind of calm me down a bit...I guess I should get the message one day, I don't have many landscapes because when I do some they go...so sometime I do make a bit of concession to the need once in a while to sell some of my works...and seems that landscape are easier to sell, if I consider that I have none left...maybe the rarity of them cause the demand, I should ask that to people who are knowledgable in economics, I'm not and in marketing too, I'm not. Je voulais aussi mettre la photo du port que j'ai utilisé, vous remarquerez un effet très spécial dans la photo, effet de la lentille, du soleil couchant, plutôt des égratignures que j'ai fait en voulant nettoyer la photo qui était sale, bel effet je dois admettre...:) I did want to put the picture I used for this pastel, you can notice some strange effect in it, lense reflections, sunlight playing tricks, try more like scratches made with a cloth while attempting to clean the pic, some modern art isn't it...and some dirt left in the pic, inspiring to interpret in a pastel...:) Et un petit vidéo, aussi court que le temps qu'il m'a fallu pour le dessiner ce pastel... And a small making of video, as short as the time I put doing this pastel....

Something became quite evident to me hanging my newest works, usuallly I try to regroup them with a theme or similitude, did not have problems finding women, fashionable, wearing boots, arranging them by style, colors, etc...and also usually I do a few, landscapes or streets scene, and for this exhibition, there not too many, and since I was craving for drawing or painting, but most of my stuff was stored in some difficult to access place, except for my pastels, then I thought maybe I should do a pastel of Hamburg port..and there it is... A bit of pastel, a follow up on Hamburg's port, before doing a bit of acrylic painting and Cindy..and of course spent a few hours updating my sites, adding new pages and many more...as they say in those adds....links are on the page, if you feel like taking a tour, I think it is worth the time...
A bit of technical bits, even after many days, the colors were still usable on the stay-wet palette, and the medium and additives, mixed a few days ago, kept wet in the fridge, not much of a discovery, but it is nice to know, that it is there, ready to be used...as ofr the painting itself, I don't know, not sure I want the background to be so dark, so it's been lighten up a bit, maybe more is needed...don't know yet...
A bit on a slow motion pace these days, maybe it is the first fresness of automn, love that time, I can't stand humid, hot weather like we had all summer long....I guess I'm a northern person after all, or simply it is the holiday pace, after a couple of weeks you finally slow down, just a week left....should try to make something out of it....of course some oil and pastel, after? not sure...so yesterday, at least did some work on this recent pastel, Hamburg port, it is still almost abstract, of course with the lack of details in the photo, it does help me keep at bay, my tendacy to add details, if there is, it will be more as spots of colors and more interpretation than reproducing...which is good...so here's the latest versions, go the the page for the slideshow 424 |
