May as well show the pic I did used a few days ago to modify the clothes and boots texture of one of my 3D models, actually the picture, a black and white shoot, was taken in Hamburg, part of a wharf, here it is...

Usually I am not a big fan of going in big show, march or any type of organised event, but during my time in Winnipeg I did like to go, taking my camera with me. Most of these events reach a wide audience, either in style or age, here it was during a show in front of the Manitoba Parliament Building, after a peace walk that has brought together all kind of peoples.
Still a few black and white pictures to present of Munich, this is about an angel just about ready to fly away, but as we know, generally stone angels are usually kind of stuck here with us, this one resting firmly on a pedestal, his stone feets well anchored in this monument, and he can't do a thing about it, even having wings, stone wings must I precise...
Sometimes I do stumble upon a few strange photos in my old stuff...like this one, can't quite remember or know what happened here, seems the film did not advance and I did get a superposition of two exposures, I think, while I was trying to take some pictures at night without a tripod, so some blurred scenes from downtown Winnipeg, or maybe it was coming home very late and I had a few too many beers and I was thinking...let's see what will happen if I try this...a bit stange, but I do like it at the same time... Close to the station there is many nice valleys and mountains, this place is almost a paradise, a cold one, but nonetheless, you do have a nice feeling being out there to look at something not many peoples will have the chance to see, and when you get tired of this there is always the possibility to stroll along the Fjord coast, of course after a few months, you start missing south and home, but still this is a beautiful place. In the meantime, one of my collegue and friend was taking a short rest, while i was shooting all around.
Another pic taken during this peace march, held long ago, June 1982, even the walking light was on for us to walk, but not for this man, a passerby, waiting for the crowd to pass, perched on a local newspaper distributor...I guess he told himself that he may as well show patience and let this crowd pass by, resting on this newspaper distributor...:) Eh oui, l'inconvénient de sortir du fond du tiroir des souvenirs qui datent, on ne se souvient plus trop de la date et de l'endroit, si quelqu'un reconnaît cette église reflétée, pour ma part je penche pour Hambourg...
Yes, this is one of the drawback getting out these old 'things', so much time went since, I am not sure it this reflected church is in Hamburg, or Cologne...if anybody knows...please refresh my memory...but I do lean for Hamburg...
From my too short library of Vienna picture, I spent more than four months there, 10 days end of November and from early January to mid May in 1986-1987...I guess I was too busy discovering my favorite café, taking art classes in drawing and painting, and learning a bit of German, but here's one of the few, almost a postcard, I don't have many of this type in my collection, the Belvedere Castle, a beautiful site, I should have taken more pic, maybe it has to do with spending my time there in Winter instead of another season, but usually this is not the kind of thing that would prevent me from taking photos...so my so called Belvedere Castle Postcard...
My home place in Winnipeg, heating system, not sure how to translate 'calorifère' in english, but it is hot water circulating, and very useful when it is 30 below....
Going through my old pictures, I found this one, taken in 1982, my old tape cassette reader, I don't think there is many of those around today, but at least it is not as vintage of the dreadful 8 tracks cassette, cutting a song right in the middle to change track, I remember listening to Dark side of the Moon, by Pink floyd and having the song cut in the middle and hearing the noise the reader was making changing track...:) |
