Huile et Baie du Nord / Oil painting and petrol in Newfoundland

Je me suis dit que pour souligner le prochain investissement dans l'or noir, je me remettais aussi au pétrole, enfin l'huile...la peinture, 'there is nothing like the smell of oil in the morning, it smells like.....Victory'....pense que c'est dans Apocalypse now et aussi encore aujourd'hui....

Non je ne parle pas du pétrole, chauffé par électricité et je n’ai pas d’auto, oui je suis anormal….évidemment je parle plus de peinture ici, ouf plus de 3 ans je pense sans faire de la peinture à l’huile, pratiquement passé plus de temps à me préparer, me battre contre les tubes séchés, les mediums épaissis, encore une fois je parle de peinture ici, donc après un semblant de calvaire de 45 minutes, enfin l’extase….me remettre à peindre….

No I am not talking about the recent report of the Group experts on climatic change, or the last oil project authorized here in Canada….so not talking about oil, my apartment heating is electric, I don’t ride a car nor a horse, yes I am a bit abnormal, in fact most of the time I do spent it at home, but what I meant is that finally, after 3 years, I went back…to oil painting, took me almost 45 minutes to wrestle the dried up tubes, thickened mediums and other things, thick or sticky but surely messy, it is almost like life…but after this journey, ok 45 minutes is not a journey…so finally I could start again oil painting…ah the Nirvana finally…:)

Here’s the chosen one, at least as it or she…lets settle down for ithe was 3 years ago…Voici celle, enfin le tableau qui a été choisi pour ce retour…comme il , enfin elle disons ielle….était voilà 3 ans

J’étais un peu anxieux, peut-être que la peinture serait devenu pour moi quelque chose de passé, inconnu..finalement comme un poisson dans l’huile, oui quelques maladresses et déversements, mais moins pire que l’Exxon Valdez ou la plate forme New Horizons, je m’y suis remis avec assez d’aisance…je pense…le résultat ce soir (jeudi 7 avril)

I was a bit anxious, nervous, doubting a little bit, maybe painting has become something too strange to me, that I could not do it again…a few mishaps, like spreading my oil medium onto the palette, sticky, messy but not as much as Exxon Valdez or Deepwater Horizons disaster, and finally I went on with what I have done mamy times…like a fish in the water, more exactly in oil, yes I know fish and oil, not a good thing….the result as of tonight, Thursday Arpil 7 th
