L'iceberg d'à côté...your neighboring iceberg...

A chaque venue de l'hiver lorsque le fjord gêle à Eureka, il y a de bonnes chances qu'un ou plusieurs iceberg s'y retrouvent figé jusqu'au printemps suivant, celui n'était pas trop loin de la station, une vingtaine de minutes de marche, par contre pas facile de marcher sur un fjord gelé, pas si plat que cela et parfois la neige cachait des trous pas trop profond, mais assez pour se tordre une cheville ou un genou...donc un peu de prudence mais le spectacle valait le faible risque...surotut que cette année là, aucun ours polaire n'avait été aperçu dans le coin...

Every time winter would come back in Eureka, there was a high probability that some iceberg would be trapped in the fjord, that winter we were lucky, there was one almost on the door front of the station, figure of speech, it was about 20 minutes to walk there, although a frozen fjord could be a bit hazardous, no large holes, but enough to hurt an ankle or a knee, going through the snow that filled the jagged ice, but it was a worthwhile risk to take, a not so big risk after all, just have to be cautious, and that year no polar bear were sight nearby the station...
