En fait je n’étais pas parti…mais occupé à me perdre dans divers logiciels de photographie, d’animation et d’illustration, rattraper mon retard dans la série ‘Games of Throne’…encore dans la saison 4….donc quelques projets et essais en cours, pour le moment, je vais présenter trois versions d’une même photo, Flin Flon, Manitoba, en fait aussi un peu en Saskatchewan, au nord des prairies canadiennes pour ceux qui n’ont aucune idée où est située cette petite ville minière nordique..quoique là ce ne sont plus des prairies, plutôt de nombreux lacs, paysage accidenté, petites collines et de nombreux effleurements rocheux..

Actually I was here, but spending time between family supper, watching Games of Throne, I am still in the fourth season…so I am trying not to listen or read comments on season 5 ending…and I am as usually spreading myself into too many illustration, painting projects, which make for a sense of not doing anything….but I know it is not entirely true, so here’s a photo, in three versions of Flin Flon, Manitoba, also partly Saskatchewan, and for those who don’t really know where is that mining town, it is in the Northern part of the Canadian Prairies, actually not anymore the prairies up there, rather small lakes, hills, rocks outcrop everywere…

Je suis un peu, parfois acheteur compulsif..surtout pour les logiciels de photo et d’illustration, donc je voulais tester Lightroom d’adobe, en comparaison de Photoshop du même fournisseur, et je ne parlerai pas encore ici de Corel, Gimp, et autres…pas étonnant que je cherche toujours mon temps…donc la version avec Lightroom, pas encore habitué à l’interface assez différent de Photoshop, mais en travaillant dans Lightroom j’ai trouvé des choses qui sont aussi maintenant dans Photoshop..mais que je n’avais pas essayé..on a tendance à suivre nos chemins connus…:), les nouveaux modes de duplication, les filtres camera raw…déjà je ne peux plus m’en passer…:)

I am a bit of a compulsive buyer, at least for software, not for the other things of life, except for the stupid time I bought a car in half an hour…it turned out ok, was lucky I guess..so I have quite a few photo and art or 3d softwares, most I am using them just a little bit, not there not good, but lack of time to learn them..and we are comfortable in our ‘old shoes’..:) but this time I put some effort on Lightroom, also from adobe, to compare with their flagship software Photoshop, I struggle a bit, not quite the same interface, tools not the same place, but in the end I discover a few things that actually are in Photoshop but I wasn’t aware of them,like the camera raw filters, did not know you can use them on a jpg, I thought it was for the raw format only…learning more on one by the backdoor it seems, as for the photo, It is ok but I went a bit too much on the color shift and few things, I thought it was too light…and I came back to photoshop, first pic presented, so here’s ‘her sister’ in Lightroom,,

And may as well show the original, modified a little bit for removing speckles, dust, and others things left over by the scanning process of this old slide (June 1982)…Aussi bien montrer, l’originale, modifiée quelque peu afin d’enlever les poussières, défauts et autres petites choses laissés par la numérisation de cette vieille diapo (juin 1982)

Parfois je me contente de ne photographier que des objets anodins, du type de ceux que l'on passe sans trop les regarder, sauf pour voir si l'autobus s'en vient, que c'est bien la bonne ligne ou si un train s'en vient...

Sometimes when not knowning much what ot photograph, or when nothing capture my attention, I do like taking pics of things we most of the time walk by without looking or noticing them, except to check if this is the right bus lane number or if a train is coming, usually we can hear them...

And sometimes I just like going back to black and white photos...Et à l'occasion j'aime bien regarder le monde en noir et blanc...

Quelques photos prises lors de mes retours du travail, lorsque je le fais à pied, souvent je traverse ce grand parc de la partiie nord de Montréal, le stade Uniprix, endroit où se déroule le tournoi de tennis, l'étang aménagé voilà quelques années en sont mes principaux sujets...

A few shots taken in Jarry Park, a large park in the north end of Montreal, home of the Uniprix tennis stadium, and a man made lagoon, besides other things, these two items are the subject of these photographs, more will come.

Afin de reproduire quelque peu la structure du site, une page de blogue pour la photographie seulement, l'autre page ou blogue, sera consacré aux tableaux et illustrations, le 3D, sera probablement plus sur cette page...Donc une première photo du Nord, Lake Hazen, qui a subi de nombreuses transformations dans Photoshop, dans un prochain article, je décrirai un peu plus les étapes qui ont mené à cette photo

To reflect a bit this site structure, mainly divided ia a Photography section and a painting and Illustrations section, there will be 2 blog pages dealing with one subject, so this one will be about Photos...and for the first post, a photo reworked quite extensively in Photoshop I adimit....Lake Hazen, in a next one I will show more of the way it came to this one
