We know from Normandy, the beauty of the bocage, small roads crossing old villages, the sea, those little stone walls limiting the fields, and suddendly, cycling one of those small countryside road, I came upon a pile of concrete blocks, barbed wires, and I was far from the 1944 Normandy landing or invasion..but close to the La Hague, a plant storing and treating nuclear facilities residus.
While exchanging with a fellow blogger who is using a drone to get some aerial picture of Calgary, Rob Moses, click on his name to visit his blog, I was mentionning that it was make me wish I had still the occasion to fly, then in 1980’s I was flying quite extensively for the job and between Winnipeg and Montreal, and I do have some nice aerial pics, but they are very dusty, and do require lot of work before postiing, so here’s one I did last night…
A photo taken long time ago, when travelling in Normandy, I was cycling though it then, in 1986, and somewhere along this small road I took a break and took a few pics...field, stone fence, quiet, ah I wish I would relive that again...
You don't smoke when near of one of these buildings, hydrogen is being produced in those, and it will be used to fill those weather balloons that goes into the high atmosphere twice a day, every station like this one around the Arctic doing the same. A long time ago, 1983, we were getting ready to go to the airport, catching a flight to Resolute Bay, for me it was my first trip to the Canadian Arctic, and also to Edmonton... I de like shades and forms of structures, probably something left over from my studying engineering, so an underpass, Chabanel street in Montreal, going under commuter trains deserving the northern suburbs of Montreal region.
